The new missions book Eyewitness by Gusztinne Tulipan Maria, is her account of growing up under communist rule, and how her family and others maintained their testimony for Jesus through those extremely difficult years … continuing to love and pray for their oppressors until some of them became believers.

It is also the story of the present day Hungarian church, much of which worships in homes rather than in church buildings.

It impressed me anew with our calling to encourage people to respond to Jesus, no matter what happens politically in our country … and how God blesses his followers in the midst of persecution.

On Tuesday, July 25th, Jay and Teanna Sunberg, and hopefully, two of their pre-teen daughters will be with us. They live and work in Hungary. I am excited to hear more about the church’s involvement with Syrian refugees and their account of how they are loving their neighbors.

Blessings as you love your neighbors!
